What are separate bedrooms?
This entry describes separate bedrooms as a household arrangement in which the two people sleep in different rooms, by agreement, by custom, or by one person leaving the shared bed. It notes that the rooms can be about noise, illness, or distance, and that the reason needs to be said if the arrangement is not to become an unannounced split.
What this entry does not do
It does not replace the entry on sleep in a marriage, and it does not say a couple must share a room.
