What is the postpartum period for a couple?
This entry describes the postpartum period as the stretch after a birth when sleep, the body, feeding, visitors, and sex are all rearranged, often unevenly. It notes that one person may be healing while the other is trying to help, and that help in that stretch is not the same as agreeing what the marriage will do next.
What this entry does not do
It is not a medical or infant-care guide, and it does not set a date by which sex or ordinary life must resume.
