What if parents oppose the marriage?
This entry lists usual forms of parental opposition: silence, money withheld, insults aimed at the partner, and pressure on the adult child to delay or refuse. It separates a parent's objection from the couple's legal capacity to marry.
What this entry does not do
It does not tell an adult child to obey or to cut off their parents.
