What is an only-child couple?
This entry describes an only-child couple as a pair in which one or both spouses grew up without siblings, so each set of parents has only this adult child to look toward. It lists what that often puts on the marriage: holiday duty, elder care, pressure for a grandchild, and no brother or sister to share the call home.
What this entry does not do
It does not say only children make worse or better spouses, and it does not preach a duty to live with either set of parents.
