What is gridlock?
This entry describes gridlock as a stuck disagreement in which each person feels that accepting the other's position would betray something central about themselves. It notes that the same fight returns with the same ending, and that neither person is waiting for a better argument.
What this entry does not do
It does not say a gridlocked couple must split, and it does not replace the entry on a perpetual problem.
