What is gaslighting?
This entry describes gaslighting as a repeated pattern of denying events, twisting what was said, or telling a partner that their memory cannot be trusted, so that the partner doubts their own account. It looks at repetition aimed at control, not at an ordinary disagreement about what happened.
What this entry does not do
It does not label a single argument as gaslighting or diagnose a person from afar.
