What is the difference between forgiveness and reconciliation?
This entry describes forgiveness as one person's choice to stop charging the past injury as the price of ordinary life, and reconciliation as the couple's choice to restore the relationship. It notes that one can happen without the other, and that neither is the same as saying the injury did not happen.
What this entry does not do
It does not say a person must forgive, and it does not say reconciliation follows from forgiveness.
