What is fondness in a marriage?
This entry describes fondness as the habit of noticing what one still likes and respects in a spouse, and of saying so in ordinary time, not only after a fight. It distinguishes that liking from a performance put on for relatives or guests.
What this entry does not do
It does not say a couple must feel fond every day, and it does not treat fondness as a phrase that ends a real grievance.
