What is flooding, and when not to talk?
This entry describes flooding as the point in a talk when one or both people are too physically stirred to hear a new fact, so more words add heat rather than sense. It notes that this is a reason to stop talking for a time, and that the stop is not the same as refusing the topic.
What this entry does not do
It does not replace the entry on a time-out in a fight, and it does not say anyone must keep talking through fear or harm.
