What is financial abuse?
This entry describes financial abuse as a pattern in which one person controls the other's money, work, or access to accounts so that leaving or disagreeing becomes costly. It separates that pattern from a household budget the two people both can see, and from an ordinary disagreement about spending.
What this entry does not do
It is a concept, not a legal guide, and it does not replace the entry on financial infidelity.
