What is enmeshment with a family of origin?
This entry describes enmeshment with a family of origin as a blur in which a parent's worry, money, or opinion still runs the couple's choices, so the two spouses cannot tell their own no. It notes that closeness to parents is not the same as this blur, and that the marriage is the unit that has to name the line.
What this entry does not do
It does not forbid closeness with parents, and it does not replace the entry on limits with in-laws.
