What changes when adult children leave home?
This entry describes the departure of adult children as a change in the couple's household: rooms empty, money shifts, and the two adults see more of each other without a child's schedule in the middle. It notes that some couples have had little practice being a pair once the daily work of parenting recedes.
What this entry does not do
It does not tell adult children when to leave or say that a parent should keep them at home.
